David holds a B.S. degree from Duke University. He earned his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 1993 and was admitted to the Registry of Certified Financial Planners in 1994. He also holds both the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. He is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with NFP Securities, and a member of PartnersFinancial, a premiere national network of over 200 independent financial services firms nationwide.

David has been featured or quoted regularly in both the local and national media including USA Today, The New York Times, Business Week, U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg, CNN, CNN Money, The Baltimore Sun, The Chicago Tribune, The Journal of Financial Planning, and Dow Jones Newswire.

David is the Past-President and Chairman of the Financial Planning Association of Maryland. He is a member and past Director of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council, and has been a regular speaker at industry conferences and meetings. In addition he has served on the Board of Directors of several regional charities and various endowment investment committees.

David’s pride and joy are his twin children, Chase and Ashley. He and his wife Andy recently moved from downtown Baltimore back to Greenspring Valley, but still plan to spend as much of their family time as possible on the water.  As avid boaters, they enjoy exploring the Chesapeake Bay, with its rich history and diversity, as well as the surrounding bays and ocean.
